Because of the poor ice-conditions in Säkylä we moved venue to a lake more east. This information was sent out about 3 weeks before the contest.

Schedule of competition

Round 1: 9:15- 10:15.
Round 2: Started 9:15 with a 4 min max. In the beginning of the round a snowstorm arrived and several models was lost in the air. The CD, Timo Forss together with the jury decided to stop and cancel the round and start it over again with 3 min max. During round 2 the CD had to make several shorter delays because of bad visibility, but no flights was lost in the air.
Round 3: The wind picked up and models started to slide on the ice, so this became the last main-round.
The flyoffs in F1A and F1C was held in the morning 15/3. F1C started before 7.30 and F1A just after 7:30, both with a 600 sec max.

No, beside the short breaks in 2:nd round due to bad visibility.

Maximum durations in each round

Round 1: 240 sec
Round 2-3: 180 sec
Flyoff: 600 sec

Interruptions and delays

Yes, in second round because of bad visibility.

Weather and visibility

In the first round the wind was about 2-4 m/s and after increasing to 5-8 m/s. Some snowfall during the day. In the flyoff wind 2-4 m/s and clear sky.

Flight line with free positioning.

Number of competitors per pole

No requirement.

Local rules or deviations from Sporting Code

F1C starting pole at right hand side of flight line, facing the wind. Competitor’s time-keeping for each other.

Observations on timekeeping

Random check of timekeeping.

Prize-giving and issue of results - confirm organisers provide results with full names, nationalities and number of juniors

Prize giving in the afternoon after Bear cup. Prizes to the first 3 in F1A, and to the 2 first in F1B and F1C. Only a first price in F1Q. For the juniors both competing got prices.
